This is true, but only when exported as vector files like Ai, Compatible PDF, or EPS, or when scaling on Illustrator and other vector programs. You may be wondering why this is so, yet Illustrator is a vector-based program and vectors should scale up or down without losing quality. For instance, if you are creating artwork for a website that will display the image in 1920px wide by 1080px in height, ensure that your artboard in Illustrator is 1920px by 1080px as well or larger. To export your Illustrator file into a high-quality PNG or JPG image, make sure your artboard in Illustrator matches the dimensions you wish to export in or is larger. Either you’re original artboard size in illustrator does not match your intended export dimensions (artboard was too small) or your export settings result in a lower quality export. There are 2 reasons why your exported image appears pixelated.
